Opening Doors Program

The students had an amazing time at the Challenger Learning Center!  Each student was assigned a different position as they "Rendezvoused with a Comet" in outer space!  Students had the opportunity to be in both the Space Shuttle and Mission Control.  Although they did not find their initial target, comet Inky, the 5th graders made an even more exciting discovery; they discovered a new comet!  The students decided to name the comet Pepper317.

 

In addition to the amazing Challenger experience, students also had the opportunity of visiting different classrooms at Heartland Community College to hear more from the instructors about the classes.  Some of these classes visited were Zoology, Physical Therapy, and Career Readiness.
