Updates from 5A

Buddies

Last Wednesday we were with our buddies and we made a book for them to put into their little book box. They read these books in Reader's Workshop by themselves. Our buddies are kindergarteners. We used Storyjumper to be able to publish these books. We included pictures and backgrounds to make the book seem more realistic and more fun. We got to make a book with them too. They got to choose the plot, setting, characters, and title. We wrote the book for them while they were telling us what to write because after all they are kindergarteners. I think that both the fifth and the kindergarteners had a great time! We all love our buddies and can’t wait until we get to see them again!!!

Musical This February our school had a Musical. We had to sing 7 different songs and all of them were about heroes who changed the world. There was acting speakers and everyone sung. The songs were of the heroes and honored them. It was very fun! Our music teacher taught us the songs that we had to sing and our parents were really happy.

Opening Doors

We had a speaker come in and talk to us about putting first things first. He said we need to take things out of our schedule that aren't worth doing. He coaches basketball and he makes sure that his players are not going to parties that are inappropriate. He also works at State Farm and is a IT security.
